“Queen of Tears” Kim Ji-won to Become a Genius Surgeon in New K-drama?

According to a Star News report on February 14th, Kim Ji-won will be appearing in the drama “Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia” (tentative title, written by Pyun Sung-geun, directed by Lee Jung-rim, produced by Studio Dragon and Studio S) as the main character ‘Kye Soo-jeong’.

In response to the report, her agency HighZium Studio stated, “Kim Ji-won is positively reviewing the offer to star in ‘Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia.’”

In 2024, Kim Ji-won went viral globally after starring as the female lead in the drama “Queen of Tears”. In the series, she played Hong Hae In, a wealthy heiress of a Korean chaebol who is diagnosed with a terminal illness and chooses to spend her final months reconnecting with her husband. The role of Hong Hae-in earned Kim Ji-won immense love from audiences and propelled her to a new peak in her acting career.

“Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia” is a medical noir where “Doctor X” Kye Soo-jeong confronts the absurdity of reality with only her genius surgical skills and delivers exhilaration. 

In the drama, ‘Kye Soo-jeong’ is a genius surgeon who exiled herself in a dark past. Kim Ji-won, who captivated fans around the world with her role as ‘Hong Hae-in’ in the drama “Queen of Tears” last year, is expected to captivate viewers with another charm.
